Underwater kingdoms made of coral

Merfolk have been known to eat kelp, seaweed and other marine plants. But they do eat clams and other shellfish.

Merfolk are natrually curious, which is what leads them to come near shore. They are very intelligent creating vast underwater colonies. They are prone to stereotype due to there anger to the human race for all they have done to the ocean

Mermen are very rare. They are agressive and very solitary its near impossible ot find one except during mating season.

Much like sirens, mermaids sometimes sing to people and gods and enchant them, distracting them from their work and causing them to walk off the deck or run their ships aground. Other stories depict them squeezing the life out of drowning men while attempting to rescue them. They are also said to carry humans down to their underwater kingdoms.

Merfolk have he odd ability to breath underwater and above water. They breath underwater using either gills on the side of their bodies or more likey their "hair" is actually gill figments that absorb air from the water.

Some very rare individuals have the ability to transform their tails into legs.

Like humans all merfolk are different in apperance but they take it to the extreme. There are no variants only individual But all Merfolk have the same body structure, humaniod torso with a tail.

Merfolk are usually found in loose kingdoms found in large reefs. Each kingdom has control over a certain area of water. They have been known to go to war to get more land.
